ABOUT THE ARTIST

Madeleine Kurtsdotter is a Swedish contemporary artist, based in Dubai since 2015. Known for her experimental work with bold colours, textures and shapes and her passion for exciting contrasts, Madeleine mainly finds inspiration from nature, people and travels. Her longer stays in France, USA and the UAE have also left their mark on her artwork.

 

Today, Madeleine mostly works with mixed techniques combining acrylic, oil and natural material. She also finds pleasure in working with aquarelle, collages and illustrations. Madeleine has studied various art  techniques, as well as graphic design and illustration both at reputed Berghs SoC in Sweden and others.

 

Madeleine has exhibited her work in art galleries, art shows and public places in Sweden, France, Spain, Belgium, USA and the UAE. She is exhibiting her paintings for the third time at the reputed Salon d'Automne in Paris, France (2022, 2023 and 2024). Commissioned by incubator ZeeArts and the United Nations, she exhibited at the UN Pavilion at World Expo 2020, Dubai, UAE and is permanently exhibited at the UN Headquarters in the UAE, in Abu Dhabi. The same painting was also exhibited in Blue Zone during COP28 in Dubai 2023.
